What does this tool tell you?
Provision for the future, not the present — capacity planning with real growth math.
What affects the result most?
Capacity headroom: provision for peak × 1.3 — 30% above expected peak for autoscaler to react. Growth factor: if traffic grows 20%/month, current capacity needs to support next 3 months = ×1.73. Database capacity: storage grows monotonically — provision for 2× current with expansion plan.
How should I use the result?
The calculation is deterministic — the same inputs always produce the same output — so the most useful workflow is to vary one input at a time and see which factor moves the result most. That tells you where to focus your attention before committing to a decision.
