FAQ
What does this tool tell you?
The Alert Fatigue Calculator quantifies on-call alert burden, signal-to-noise ratio, and weekly hours lost to non-actionable alerts.
What affects the result most?
Alert fatigue score: alerts_per_week / engineer_count โ >10/week/engineer is high fatigue territory. Signal-to-noise ratio: actionable_alerts / total_alerts โ below 50% indicates significant noise. MTTA (Mean Time To Acknowledge): high fatigue correlates with MTTA > 30 minutes.
How should I use the result?
The calculation is deterministic โ the same inputs always produce the same output โ so the most useful workflow is to vary one input at a time and see which factor moves the result most. That tells you where to focus your attention before committing to a decision.
